Introduction

The Greater Lawndale Healthy Work project (GLHW) has continued three subcommittees to further develop, implement, and evaluate worker health interventions in Greater Lawndale. Learn more about the timeline of initiatives below.

2021 - 2025 Initiatives

Subcommittee 1: Employer Certification Program

Shift the ecology of largely precarious, local jobs to a landscape of healthy jobs in Greater Lawndale.
Subcommittee 2: Worker Cooperatives

Increase community ownership and wealth through increasing opportunities for cooperatives in Greater Lawndale.
Subcommittee 3: Photovoice Study

Identify healing-centered interventions to promote healthy work among informal workers including street vendors, in-home candy stores and in-home hair stylists.
