Worker Cooperatives will now have their own corporate entity in Illinois
The IL Limited Worker Cooperative Association Act, HB 3663, unanimously passed out of the Senate on May 16th. Worker Cooperatives will now have their own corporate entity in Illinois and worker-owners will soon be able to register in the state as Limited Worker Cooperative Associations.
The Illinois Coalition for Cooperative Advancement (ICCA) includes: Catatumbo Cooperative Farm, Centro de Trabajadores Unidos, Chicago Community and Workers' Rights, Chicago Food Action Policy Council, The Co-op Ed Center, Cooperativa Visionarias, Council of Cooperative Economists, The Domestic Worker and Day Labor Center of Chicago, Englewood Village Farms, Grow Greater Englewood, The John Marshall Law School, The Kola Nut Collaborative, Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO), New Era Windows and Raise the Floor Alliance
