Marjorie Kersten, MPH is a Graduate Research Assistant with the Greater Lawndale Health Work Project and a doctoral student in the Community Health Sciences division at UIC. Additionally, Marjorie currently works as a Graduate Assistant at the Collaboratory for Health Justice at UIC; as a Graduate Assistant at the Community-led Health Equity and Food Access lab at UIC; and as an evaluation and program management consultant for Nutrition Equity and Justice Partners, LLC and Chicago Grows Food.
Marjorie is passionate about working with communities to utilize their existing knowledge and assets to address public health inequities and social justice issues. Marjorie has worked in the non-profit and academic sectors working with communities to address public health inequities like food insecurity, breast/chest feeding equity, access to green space, and healthy work as social justice issues for over 7 years. Additionally, she has worked on community-engaged evaluation projects for over 4 years.
