How Extreme Heat Affects Workers and the Economy

Workers around the world, including those at airports and in the informal economy, are struggling under extreme heat during ongoing heatwaves on three continents. As temperatures rise, workers are facing risks to their health, safety, and productivity. Heat stress is causing workers to collapse and suffer from accidents and health issues. Although very few countries have regulations to protect workers from extreme heat, there is a growing call for such protections to be implemented. Read more here:
