Northwestern’s medical residents, fellows vote to unionize
Northwestern's medical residents and fellows have voted in favor of unionizing, with an overwhelming 794-148 result. According to the doctors who led the efforts, most employees wanted representation as they navigated their intense workload and over 80-hour workweeks. Their outreach efforts across all departments also led to their landslide victory.
Following this decision, the focus shifts to bargaining as they aim to make impactful changes to their working environment.
